Measured.Verified.Reduced.

Direct, calibrated methane measurement at the wellhead — real observed data, not modeled proxies — supporting verified emissions reduction across the oil and gas industry.

02 · Positioning

An independent field-measurement firm for methane at oil and gas wells — institutional-grade, direct wellhead measurement.

  • ISO 14064-3Specification with guidance for the verification and validation of greenhouse gas statements.
    Aligned
  • AER Directive 087Alberta Energy Regulator — methane emissions reduction requirements.
    Aligned
  • AER Interim Directive ID 2003-01Alberta Energy Regulator — supplementary measurement and reporting guidance.

We have run our equipment at the wellhead through Alberta winters — sustained sub-zero temperatures, wind chill, and freeze–thaw cycles that defeat many laboratory-grade analyzers when taken into the field. Cold-weather performance is a primary requirement, not an edge case.

Instruments are calibrated on a fixed cadence, traceable to recognized national standards.

Every measurement follows the same standard operating procedure. Each step is logged with timestamps, instrument serial numbers, and operator initials, so the resulting dataset is repeatable and auditable from raw signal to final report.

  1. 01

    Pre-deployment instrument check

Bench calibration verification against reference gas; battery, optics, and pump function logged. Instrument is not approved for field use unless every check passes.

  2. 02

    Site assessment and safe approach

Wellhead identified, environmental conditions recorded (temperature, wind speed and direction, atmospheric pressure), and a safe sampling position is established in line with site H&S requirements.

  3. 03

    Continuous measurement window

Direct measurement is taken at the wellhead for the duration prescribed by the measurement protocol, with the instrument logging at its native sample rate.

  4. 04

    QA/QC and data integrity review

Raw signal reviewed against control limits; any flagged intervals reconciled against site notes. Chain of custody documented for the raw dataset.

  5. 05

    Independent data validation and report

Validated dataset compiled into a measurement report with measurement uncertainty, instrument calibration reference, and field conditions, suitable for use by operators, verifiers, and regulators.

Measured Zero serves multiple operators. We measure only — we hold no stake in the abatement work that follows the data, no ownership of the assets being measured, and no equity in the carbon credits the data may support. The numbers stand on their own.

Field measurement is engineering work. Each engagement is led by a named engineer accountable for the instrument, the method, and the resulting data.
